In recent weeks I've experienced some of the best story-telling and game-play from a digital Pen & Paper-themed product that I've ever seen, rivaling even the likes of the Baldur's Gate series. Afterall, how could a few amateurs possibly match the work of a paid Bioware team of employees? I had assumed that the fan modules were nothing more than midgets compared to the official stuff. I've always been rather hesitant about playing "fan-made" campaigns as I had always figured that a triple-A studio garnered more resources to pull off a better story than some dude in his basement.

This time around, I've decided to take a stab at the plethora of community mods for the game. It was a rather "meh" experience and, by the time I was able to leave the town of Neverwinter, I was bored out of my mind. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I basically gave up on the game after finishing the first chapter of the original campaign. So, I went in my closet and dusted off my old Platinum edition to give it another go. I remember a teaser trailer came with Baldur's Gate II that I must have watched a hundred times or so with giddy anticipation. I got a little nostalgic about how revolutionary this game was when it first launched. Seeing the game again really got me thinking about how long ago that it was that I last played it. Neverwinter Nights Diamond was recently released on GOG (If you haven't picked this game up for ten-freaking dollars, you're insane).
